Digital Portfolios, How To

Displaying final product work is the magic of the digital portfolio!  You will be able to look back years from now at projects you worked hard on and feel pride for the work you created.  There are many different ways to display final products on a Google Site.   This video will show how to embed (or put in) files (including Microsoft Word and PDF documents) from Google Docs into your Google Site.

Files from Google Drive can be quickly and easily seen by your portfolio’s audience without requiring downloading and storage of files on others’ computers. Any changes made to a Google Doc will also automatically update in your Google Site.  More examples of ways to display your work are listed below.

Aside from Google Docs, here are some other ideas for ways to present a project’s final product on your digital portfolio:

  1. Video (see the “Adding Video” tutorial for instructions on how to embed video both from You Tube and from your Google Docs)
  2. Pictures (great for digitizing artwork, poster boards, or other hard to digitally display project work)
  3. Microsoft Office and Apple iWorks Documents (such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher)
  4. PDF documents
