A great way to enhance a digital portfolio or other type of website is to add video. Google Sites makes it easy to add video from YouTube or your computer (via upload to Google Drive).
If you’re adding video to a digital portfolio, I recommend using videos that showcase you and/or your work. For this video example, we’re going to add video that is meaningful to the young lady creating the site. If she’d had any video of her presenting a cool project or performing (such as in dance, drama, or even a sport), she would have also added that video. Funny, silly, and other entertaining videos certainly have a place on the web, but before adding it to a digital portfolio representing your work for all the world to see, stop and ask yourself if it’s the right place to add the video.
Examples of types of videos other students have used include:
- An Athletic Performance
- An Arts Performance (such as singing, dancing, acting, or giving a monologue)
- Giving a Speech or Presentation
- A Meaningful Video Made by the Student
- An Inspirational Video

What do we do if we don’t have any videos of us?

My recommendation is to use a video that is educational (such as a “how to” video) that represents something about you.
